I could hardly allow such a thing, it is no trouble in the least! As for this cake of yours, simply let me know where and when, and I will be there to lend my aid. Do you mind if Tara comes along? My partner, that is— she may lack opposable thumbs, but she'll be a great help in her own right.
Surely my place should fit the bill? I haven't cooked anything in my kitchen, but I could make us a pot of tea and a quick lunch provided you have no qualms against sandwiches.
Tara? I don't think I've met her, but she's welcome to come along.
Today works just splendidly! I'll be along shortly, then.
[Good to his word, he arrives within the hour, laden with a bag full of books and also with a certain tressym perched on his shoulder, who happens to be taking in the details of the scenery with a degree of curiosity as Gale himself knocks at the front door.]
[It's just enough time for Jill to get three sandwiches juggled together and on the table with a bowl of apples that has intentions on being dessert, but seems better suited towards decor instead. She would cut them up if she trusted herself that far with sharp objects; her guests will just have to use their teeth for what they are made for.
Once she's made her way towards the door, she swings it open to come face to face with Gale. The polite smile on her face is natural, though her lips curl into a small circle of confusion within seconds. Gale said he was bringing a guest. All she can see is one human and one cat. A cat with wings that adds to the confusion, but less so than the missing third party.]
[Gale greets her with a warm and open smile, which seems to be his default expression going by their previous encounters, but looks just slightly puzzled as he echoes her question, raising a brow.]
My friend...? Ah!
[He chuckles, then gestures towards the tressym with one hand, tipping his head towards her.]
[The words come tumbling from her mouth before she could keep them as a mental thought. She shouldn't be too surprised given the makeup of some of the other riftfarers and natives, but things still take her for a shock sometimes. Especially when she was expecting Tara to be a human and not a winged cat with the gift of gab.
Jill manages to catch herself before she says anything else that might come off offensive and begins stuttering and stammering to get an apology out as fast as she can.]
I'm sorry. That was rude of me. I'm just... I expected someone... different.
[Tara does let out a small huff and turn her nose up for a moment at being referred to as a cat, which Gale wisely does not comment on, but given Jill's quick apology and that it had clearly been an honest mistake, she proceeds to correct her in a very matter-of-fact, almost maternal sort of way.]
"While we may resemble cats, tressyms are considerably more advanced. I'd like to see a cat manage spellcasting as well as I do!"
[Gale clears his throat softly to cover a laugh; Tara would be a remarkable wizard herself if not for her lack of thumbs, but she does rather well for herself.]
You've no need to apologize, Jill, the fault is mine. I suppose I must have neglected to mention a few of the finer details regarding my partner, here— but Tara is as much a person as you or I, I assure you. We've been working together a long, long while.

She'll be delighted to hear it, and to meet you, as well. I'm certain the two of you will get along famously!

It's not like I have the ability to do much else but practice my juggling.

This is Tara, my partner!
[The tressym dips her head, as if bowing.]
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Warrick."
