Oh, make no mistake, I quite enjoy your natural self, as well. I've yet to see a side of you I find disagreeable in any way, and I highly doubt that will ever be the case. I would also like to emphasize that you have never, in any way, been a burden or liability. You are the very heart of our company, and I'll not have you forget it.

I feel each of us has had our role to play, been an integral part of this team. I can't think of a single one of you I would consider a burden by any definition of the word at this juncture, but least of all you. You can spread that praise around all you like.

Don't I? I'm fairly certain I made more than a few such complaints myself! Even with the aid of magic, such comforts couldn't quite be replicated. While I am grateful for much of what we experienced, I am quite glad to no longer have to bathe in the ice cold Chionthar.

You made no attempts to Hide who you were though. 'Jim the Ranger' had no reason to know what he was missing. Proper baths and baked goods were my siren's song the entirety of our adventure.

"One of my erstwhile companions" should do nicely, yes? Then it could just as feasibly have been one of the ladies too.

Fascinating! I've opened portals to many a plane, and have visited my share, but to be linked to them so intrinsically must be an exhilarating experience!

My apologies for assuming! He must be a particularly talented bard. My most recent experiences with bards have been limited to tales and tunes alike, but I know there are many with a broader range of skills to be found.

As for Scanlan, he does tales and tunes, his inspiration is really questionable at times but also pretty clutch. He's just actually really good with arcane spells. Not like Allura good, but for a bard? Good enough to counterspell some damned good things. Or, well, bad things coming at us. You know what I mean.

Oh, we're not doing that. In all my life, I've never seen a world that wasn't important. Well, maybe one, but it's not like you live on Clom.

My point! It might be one world, but it's your world, and the world of everyone that lives on it. That alone means it's worth fighting for.

More of a ramble, perhaps, but I'm hardly one to complain about such things. It's always refreshing to meet someone else so keen to speak their mind so freely. Let's not forget, I'm the last person who ought to be telling others they've gone on too long.

That said, I do appreciate your perspective. It helps, to be reminded that others do not always see things the same way we do.

Someone like me speaking their mind a lot may not know the appropriate times when it's best to be silent. My mouth's gotten me into a fair amount of trouble.

[Mostly because she can't bear to let injustices slide. Or at least, what counts per her own somewhat flexible way of thinking.]

That said, I enjoy listening to you. I also greatly appreciate anything I can learn about you, or any knowledge you desire to share about matters at hand.

Up until the past two years or so, I've only ever had my brother to talk to. Much of the world still feels so novel to me.

I will confess to my experience with said skills being largely limited to sport; I don't know that I would be able to do much with a blade in a battle where things are far less predictable than they might be with a fencing partner, but I do promise I am not entirely out of luck without my magic. Not quite up to the demands Lae'zel's ideas of training are making of me, however.

You may be right. Two glasses is quite enough for one night, I think.

Lae’zel’s demands for proficiency are a bit staggering, especially since that woman lives and breathes combat. While I understand why, I still find her expectations rather unrealistic.

However, perhaps I could show you thing or two? I wouldn’t mind crossing blades with you one way or another.
